A Day of Two Halves...

Not the start to the day we were hoping for, but the one we suspected we would get...

So we spent most of the morning on the balcony watching the rain hammer down. I say most, as we had to disappear indoors when the balcony was getting rained on. I would have taken a picture but there would have been nothing to see.

By midday we decided to just go for it and loaded our ponchos into the car and headed off. We had bought these for a trip later in the holiday and didn't expect to be using them to avoid the weather.

So today's destination was Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo.

It is included on our Tampa City Pass so we thought we would check it out.

They have a wide variety of animals, including Manatees, Giraffes, and Panthers, to name but a few.

It reminded me of Marwell in a way but better themed if that makes sense?

So we're going to post some pictures from our afternoon at the zoo.

The last one is a favourite of mine - watching a bear on a seesaw - really comical.

You can also pay to hand feed the Giraffes. We had our money ready but unfortunately the giraffes weren't interested. Can't be helped...

Shortly after this they evacuates the park due to bad weather. We didn't quite understand as it has stopped raining and had brightened up. The temperature had Soares from 72 to 85 but what do we know? So we headed back to the apartment but not before stopping for a very late lunch - think tiffin.

Then as we needed to pop out we went via the ice cream parlour and this time took a picture of the ice creams, but not the place...

Just in case you were wondering, going clockwise, orange sorbet, Oreo milkshake, mint chocolate and Hawaiian fruit cup.

Miss B and Miss H went to the pool for a quick swim before we headed over the road to eat.

Now sat in the apartment watching Peaty win the gold with a world record and greatest margin win in 100m history.
