Let's Head To The Beach...

So we woke up to rain - not really a surprise given the forecast of 100% chance of rain all day... No one was in a rush to rise and we stood on the balcony and watched the dolphins who had come to visit.

There were 3 of them this morning and it really sets us up for the day.

Around midday it brightened up so we decided to head for the beach. We were not the only ones who took the mad walk, there were plenty of others. It was really overcast and windy - reminded us of Cornwall with plenty of waves crashing in that you could surf on - but the water was still really warm.


We spent a couple of hours in the water, with much merriment had by all. After heading home to shower and change we headed for lunch at IHOP.

Then we headed out to the shops. We needed to get to Publix for their Key Lime Pie and then to Super Target and various shops to browse. The weather forecaster had got it wrong as there was no further rain today and the sun made a re-appearance.

After relaxing on the balcony we headed out for a pizza and a stroll round Pier 60 and watched the street entertainers.

It's 10.30 and watching the Olympic coverage whilst I write this.

I hadn't realised that Downtown Clearwater hosts the world headquarters for the Church of Scientology. Here's a pic of it...

It turns out, having done some research, that they own multiple properties in Clearwater with an estimated value of half a billion dollars... Google Scientology Clearwater.... There's a Daily Mail article - explains why.so many celebrities are based in the area.
