About 7.30am everyone was awake and wanting to know what the day had in store for us.
We all decided that we needed to go for an explore and see the beach so we slapped on lotion and headed out.
But before we did that... We saw a dolphin in the bay from our balcony. We didn't get a chance to take a photo, but all four of us saw it - made a fab start to the day.
We found our quickest route to the beach via the Beach Walk and walked in the surf all the way to Pier 60. Here's a few photos for you starting with our accommodation. These pictures are ones we have taken ourselves.
Next up was a trip to the Visitor Information centre where we met Debbie. It's lovely to meet someone who clearly loves their job and the location, but there was too much information to take in. We said we would pop back in a few days and before we left she gave us all free sunscreen...
Next up was brunch and we took Debbie's advice and went to the Beach Shanty Cafe, which was fab. Great food and vibe... It's the building in the middle on the next photo.
After breakfast we wondered the main high street and made a few purchases before heading back to the apartment for some cold refreshments, before donning our swimming gear and heading back to the beach.
I can't tell you how surprising the temperature of the water was. It was like walking into a hot bath. Lovely but a really sublime experience.
We didn't take cameras or phones so no pics. After sitting in the bath, sorry I mean Sean for a few hours, we headed back to the apartment. But not before stopping for ice cream -well we had earned it.
We popped in and had a look at the pool and hot tub before chilling out on the balcony.
After a quick shower and change we headed off to Pier 60 to watch the entertainers and get something to eat.
At Mrs J's request we ended up at Hooters... The food was fab and the view... from the outside dining, of the harbour was stunning.
Then there was the ominous sound of thunder and flashes of lightning and we decided to head home. We had to take shelter once on the journey and then decided to brave the fine drizzle.
As I type this we are being treated to a real lightning show and the traffic is gridlocked as everyone helps home. Sat on the balcony just watching the world go by...
This is the life... An amazing first day...
